Running Government Efficiently... Like A Business

Dear Fellow Medina County Republicans:

As your Medina County Clerk of Courts, I am dedicated to running county government efficiently like a business and using your tax dollars wisely. With over

35 years of business management experience, including over 9 years as your Clerk of Courts, I have the background and experience necessary to run the County Clerk of Courts Office - which is the business office of the Medina County Courts and handles over $50 million dollars annually.

In 2014, I became a Certified Court Manager - successfully completing the prestigious 3-year Court Management Program offered by the Supreme Court of Ohio s Judicial College and the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Management.

In 2017, I became a Certified Court Executive after successfully completing the prestigious 3-year Court Executive Program offered by the Supreme Court of Ohio s Judicial College and the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Management.

My accomplishments in office as your Medina County Clerk of Courts include:

  • Transferred nearly $4.0 million in surplus Auto Title Offices revenues since 2011 to the county general fund, in order to help prevent tax increases or cuts in vital county services.

  • Creating a new County Archives by moving @ 20 thousand files, and documents with our clerks and rented trucks. Bought used racking and installed it in a cost saving, nearby building with 24/7 access and truck docks. All for @ $5,000.00.

  • Working to attract new business to the three Auto Title Offices managed by the Clerk--in Brunswick, Medina, and Wadsworth-- to generate additional revenue for Medina County. Many of the auto titles are issued to out-of-county vehicle owners and help generate surplus revenues.

  • Repeatedly upgrading the Clerk Offices' computer servers and case management software system desktop computers, monitors & monitors, using mostly surplus Auto Title Office revenues and/or a Supreme Court $200,000 grant I wrote. at no cost to the taxpayers, using surplus Auto Title Office revenues.

  • Replaced all of the Offices' old desktop computers & monitors with new desktop computers, scanners & monitors in 2015 at no cost to the taxpayers, using surplus Auto Title Office revenues.

  • Doubled the available parking spaces in 2015 for the Medina County Auto Title Office, Ohio BMV's Medina License Bureau, and State Driver's Testing Station in the City of Medina. Worked closely with Medina Buehler's, the Medina Auto Title Office landlord, and Medina Mayor Dennis Hanwell to obtain the necessary easements and permits to have a new, expanded parking lot put in by the landlord.

  • Working with Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine's office to collect monetary debts owed by criminal defendants going back to the 1990's.
  • Created a PowerPoint Training program for each legal division to allow cross-training and to assure each employee is properly trained.
  • Improving customer service by implementing a 24-hour online payment option on the Clerk's website, to save people unnecessary trips to the County Court House.

  • Working with the Common Pleas Judges to implement of online electronic filing of cases and court documents--as in the federal court system-- in order to further improve customer service and government efficiency.

  • Successfully managing the 2+ million dollar Clerk s Office budget, and passing my 2012 to present.

Since becoming Clerk of Courts in 2011, I have established a managerial business structure within the Clerk's Office, published a new employee handbook, appointed department supervisors, and instituted training programs for all Clerk's Office employees. Unlike my primary opponent, I am a 30+ year resident of Medina County with the background and experience necessary to efficiently run the Clerk of Court s offices and the three Medina County Auto Title offices.

As a lifelong Republican, I proudly cast my vote for president in 1980 for Ronald Reagan. I served for over 25 years on the Medina County Republican Party Executive Committee, and as an elected member of the Medina County Republican Party Central Committee. In 1995, I was a co-founder of the Northern Medina County Republican Club and have served as Club President. I proudly served as an Alternate Delegate to the 2008 Republican National Convention in Minneapolis/St. Paul.

I look forward to serving another term as your Medina County Clerk of Courts and providing important government services in an efficient, business-like, and consumer-friendly manner. I respectfully ask for your vote in the March 17th Republican primary.

Sincerely,
