WHAT DOES THE COUNTY CLERK OF COURTS DO?
The Medina County Clerk of Courts Office serves as the business office of the Common Pleas Courts, Domestic Relations Court, and the Ohio Court of Appeals in Medina County. The Clerk creates and maintains the court files, accepts and date-stamps documents filed by the parties and by court officials in court cases. The Clerk's Office receives and accounts for filing fees, court costs, fines, bail and other bond monies, and related funds.
The Medina County Clerk of Courts also operates the three Medina County Auto Title Bureaus (one each in Brunswick, Medina, and Wadsworth). The Clerk's Office further serves as a designated passport application acceptance facility for the U.S. State Department.

I have been your full-time Medina County Clerk of Courts since January 2011.

Appointed Clerk of Courts by the Medina County Republican Party Central Committee on January 8, 2011 to complete the unexpired term of my predecessor, who retired December 31, 2010.Elected to a full term as Clerk of Courts in November 2016. Re-elected in November 2018 with 66% of the vote.

As an experienced businessman with a degree in Business Administration, I am responsible for managing the business office of the Medina County Common Pleas and Domestic Relations Court, and the three Medina County Auto Title Bureaus, which have a total of forty (40) employees.

As an active member of the Ohio County Clerks Association, I attend monthly meetings and training seminars to stay up-to-date with current technology and changes in Ohio law affecting my duties as Clerk.

I am a Certified Court Manager, having completed the prestigious 3-year Court Management Program in 2014 offered by the Supreme Court of Ohio s Judicial college and the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Management, which provides training courses at both the Supreme Court Building in Columbus and online.

I am now a Certified Court Executive, having completed the prestigious 3-year Court Management Program in 2017 offered by the Supreme Court of Ohio s Judicial college and the National Center for State Courts Institute for Court Management, which provides training courses at both the Supreme Court Building in Columbus and online. I believe in life-long learning!
BRUNSWICK CITY COUNCILMAN-AT-LARGE, January 1997 through 2005

Served as Vice-Mayor/City Council President for two years in 2003-05, after being chosen by a unanimous vote of Brunswick City Council.

Appointed by Brunswick City Council in January 1997 to complete the unexpired term of former Councilman Steve Hambley, who was elected Medina County Commissionerin November of 1996.

Elected city-wide to a full 4-year term in November 1997, and re-elected to a second full 4-year term in November 2001.

Voted to support the development of Brunswick Lake Towne Center to attract new businesses (Cleveland Clinic, Home Depot, Game Stop, Applebee s, Chipotle, Malley s Chocolates, Starbucks, etc.) and to retain existing businesses in the City.

Voted for the renovation and improvement of the Brunswick City Parks, and Mooney Park in particular.

Left Brunswick City Council at the end of 2005 with a multi-million dollar surplus in the City general revenue fund and related funds.

Prior to my appointment as your full-time State Licensed Realtor for Russell Real Estate Service, with offices in both Medina and Strongsville, from 2005 to early 2011.

My sales team and I sold product to both commercial customers and end users on behalf of Adalet-PLM, a local Northeast Ohio manufacturer of cast aluminum and sheet metal enclosures for hazardous and high-corrosion applications.

As a sales manager for TVC Communications, a leading distributor of ATV/telecommunications construction materials and equipment, I managed sales in a multi-state region and worked both independently and with numerous individual account managers and representatives.
BICC CABLES PYROTENAX DIVISION, Trenton, Ontario

As the Cleveland-based U.S. sales manager and representative for this multi-national company from 1988 to 2000, I managed U.S. sales, marketing and promotional efforts for an industrial control product line on behalf of a Canadian manufacturer of high temperature cables, thermo-couple cables, and explosion-proof specialty cable systems and controls.

I directly managed eighteen (18) manufacturer's sales representatives and travelled up to three weeks per month to train sales people and make direct contact with key customer accounts.
